Sharing your story

Telling your own story can be healing, for you and for someone else.

As long as your story stays secret, it has a lot of power. When you tell it to someone who listens without judging, it gets lighter. You also see your own path more clearly.

You decide what you share, with whom and when. You don't have to share everything. Start with someone you trust, in your group or at a meeting. Your counselor is a safe place too.

After a while you may notice your story helps others. Someone just starting out gets a lot from someone a few steps further along. What you're going through now may give someone else hope later.

Read the stories in the app: then and now. They show there are many roads to recovery.
